The atmosphere in the travel and accommodation industry is starting to build here on the Gold Coast with the Commonwealth Games fast approaching.
The Commonwealth Game’s will commence on Wednesday 4th April, concluding on Sunday 16th April. During this time there will be road closures, traffic delays and disrupted traffic routes. HiRUM like most businesses on the Gold Coast undertook a full risk assessment to identify potential obstacles to the normal operation of our business. From this, it was identified that several staff will be affected by the road closures etc.
Unfortunately, due to the different event times and locations we will need to take each day at a time, and we ask that you bear with us. We will continue to operate as normal, business hours Monday to Friday 9am – 4.30pm AEST. Should there be any issues that affect our ability to service our clients we will notify you by email. Please keep an eye out for emails from us during this time.
Given this we will have limited training and resources operating and ask that you try to limit reliance on our support team, if you can. Any issues that are not of an urgent nature, we ask that you hold off on lodging a support request until after the Games have concluded.
We have no option but to do our best during the games and like most businesses it will be a ‘wait and see’ scenario as to how we will all be impacted.
All the best from The Team at HiRUM.
