HiRUM Software Solutions recently partnered with Resort News to put on an event specifically for Accom Managers on the Gold Coast. It was designed to help them explore new avenues to increase their booking revenue and win in an ever competitive market.
The event was held last Thursday evening (14th June) and was very well received by all those in attendance.
For those who were not able to attend, we thought we would put together a quick recap of the event.
The event was held at the Q1 Skytower building in Surfers Paradise and was attended by well over 100 Accom Managers from the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and upper NSW region, as well as various key industry figures.
We had 6 presenters, including Google, Airbnb, Snapshot, TrustYou and CartStack, as well as our very own Sylvia Johnston.
All presenters did an amazing job, presenting interesting and topical content relevant to all Accom Managers. All were extremely experienced presenters and had the audience thoroughly engaged throughout.
From all reports the event was deemed a success, with many advising us they found it valuable to their business and felt the new avenues presented could definitely help them compete and win in the accommodation market, both now and into the future.
First cab off the rank was our very own Sylvia Johnston who not only headlined the industry event but performed the role of Emcee for the evening. Sylvia provided an overview of the current state of play in the accommodation industry. She also spoke about how Accom Managers really need to look into new avenues and technologies to ensure they not only remain competitive in today’s market but are also able to increase their booking revenue.
Second up was Calisha from Snapshot who gave an animated presentation on Snapshot. Snapshot is the largest independent data processing platform in the hospitality industry, helping properties make sense of their business through state of the art property analytics. Calisha explained how these analytics can provide Accom Managers with real insight into their business so they can make informed decisions, based on data rather than gut feel.
Brigitte then gave attendees an insight into why their customer reviews are so important, and how they can make the most of all review platforms using the TrustYou platform. Brigitte also explained how to harness these reviews to not only improve their business offering but to actively market their property to potential travellers.
Elliott enlightened attendees as to the changes in the current digital landscape, where it is headed and how they need to change to make the most of digital and Google and propel their business forward. He also gave some fascinating insights into how travellers currently book their travel and how to make the most of these trends.
Being in Minnesota, USA, Brett was unable to join us in person but had a captivating video presentation nonetheless. Brett demonstrated how attendees can use the CartStack platform to recover abandoned bookings on their own website. This really created a buzz in the room with attendees being able to use this on their current website.
Matt Olson from Airbnb gave an engaging and emotive presentation on Airbnb. He was able to advise Accom Managers on how they really can take advantage of Airbnb and why they should really add it to their distribution mix.
Following the presentations, we had a Q&A panel and networking session. Some photos are below.
