I have been with HiRUM since the 18th of February 2019.
Before I moved out to Australia and joined the HiRUM team, I spent a little over a year travelling the world. I’m originally from the US, so I started my journey there, visiting some family and exploring the country from coast to coast. Then caught a plane to Europe and stayed a couple weeks in the Netherlands with some close friends. My next stop was Thailand where I spent almost a month island hopping, experiencing ancient culture and eating delicious food. I then moved on to Bali, Indonesia where I stayed for a number of months. As a passionate surfer, it was especially difficult leaving such a beautiful paradise like Bali. But then I got the opportunity to travel to Australia for a few months where I spent my first time in the country exploring much of Queensland, NSW, SA and Victoria. I even had the pleasure of taking a road trip from Adelaide to Melbourne via the Great Ocean Road which was absolutely beautiful. I ended my 61-week journey back in my hometown of Richmond, Virginia where I spent the 2018 holiday season with my family.
I would just say to really utilise all the products that HiRUM has to offer. From our HiSITE Channel Manager, to our property management software and mobile apps, to our Marketing Reach program, all of our products were designed with you in mind, for the sole intention of making the management of your property as easy as can be, while also saving you time and aiding in the growth of your business.
I really enjoy being active in my spare time. My favourite hobby is surfing, so more often than not, you’re likely to find me in the water on the weekends or early mornings before work. I also enjoy playing soccer and going on all sorts of hikes around Queensland and NSW. As I’m not from Australia, I love exploring as much as I can and seeing all that this beautiful country has to offer. And when I’m not out and about, I enjoy binge watching shows and movies on Netflix.
This was a really difficult question to answer as there are so many songs at the top of my list for various reasons. As a drummer, I tend to listen to music which is a little more percussion-driven. So, if I had to narrow it down to just one song, I think I’d go with ‘Physical Education’ by Animals as Leaders.
I would have to say it’s a three-way tie between authentic Italian bacon carbonara, a classic slice of New York style pizza, and a lightly toasted chicken cheese-steak sub with pickles, peppers, mayo and chipotle sauce.
Food. It’s an expression of love, culture, tradition, creativity and individuality, and possibly the only universal thing that brings everyone together.
I’m so grateful that I’ve been able to travel to so many different places around the world and there are countless things about each place I’ve visited that I absolutely loved. However, one place (other than Australia) which really stands out in my mind is Bali. The mix of perfect weather, beautiful landscape, unlimited surf spots, delightful locals, a rich and humbling culture, and a delicious array of both local and international foods has put Bali at the top of my list. Thailand also ranks up there on my list for many of the same reasons.
I was born on Leap Day (29th of February), so I’m technically only 7 ¾ years old.
Thanks for sharing Andrew!
